THE “TWEET HOUSE” MAKES ITS SUNDANCE DEBUT, PRESENTED BY SMASHBOX STUDIOS
The “Tweet House” In Conjunction With Smashbox Studios Is A 2 Day & Evening Event, Hosted By The Parnassus Group, Featuring Conference Panels & A Hospitality Lounge By Day, & Special Events By Night
(Park City, UT – January 15, 2010) The Parnassus Group, hosts of the “140” Twitter Conferences, have announced that they will be bringing their panel session series to the Hollywood community with their flagship introduction of the “Tweet House” Presented By Smashbox Studios during the upcoming 2010 Sundance Film Festival ™. Two powerhouse brands join forces to create a multi tiered event that will showcase and celebrate Twitter’s global influence, specifically in the arenas of entertainment, filmmaking and music. On the heels of the recently sold-out Los Angeles Twitter Conference in September 2009, this first “Tweet House” gathering will be held during the opening weekend of the film festival at The Yoga Shop near Main Street from January 23rd – 24th.
The “Tweet House” will feature daytime panel discussions, amidst the backdrop of an industry lounge and will showcase a variety of products, including high-end consumer electronic companies along with offerings from a variety of lifestyle and apparel brands. The day and evening events will take place in a setting modeled after Los Angeles based Smashbox Studios, where the fashion, cosmetic and photography leaders will recreate their globally recognized space, complete with photo studio. Smashbox Studios has been at the epicenter of the west coast photo scene since the early 90’s and is widely recognized as a creative taste-maker, partnering only with the who’s who and what’s what of today, proven again with this social media partnership with the “Tweet House.”
“We are so excited for this first ever Smashbox Sundance experience,” states Smashbox co-founder, Davis Factor. “The film community has played an integral role in all we do at Smashbox and we couldn’t think of a better association for our brand than “Tweet House.”
Smashbox stays on the creative pulse with their new blog, Yello! providing exclusive access, interviews and more. At the “Tweet House,” Yello! will present a Hollywood photo shoot style photo booth, where Smashbox founder and photographer, Davis Factor, will shoot A-list talent and festival attendees offering a true Hollywood photo shoot experience in Park City. Yello! will document all “Tweet House” activities, tweet by tweet, through video, interviews, photos, movie reviews and more. In addition, live interactive video broadcast platform, Ustream, will broadcast live from the “Tweet House,” hosted by Entertainment Tonight host, Kevin Frazier.
Hollywood insiders, prominent members of the tech community, and global media representatives, will connect to discuss hot topics ranging from film and music to technology and brand marketing. Along the way, they will share their approaches to using Twitter and other essential online social platforms.
At the “Tweet House,” dozens of members of the “Twitterati” will be giving presentations on how to best take advantage of the world’s top microblogging platform. Sessions will emphasize topics of interest to the entertainment community, such as how to mine Twitter for information about brands, and how to promote films via Twitter.
Once the panel sessions are complete, the “Tweet House” will host a series of evening special events and performances, beginning with a Celebrity Tweetup for Haiti, taking place on Saturday from 5 – 7 PM, when key festival talent will send out live “tweets.”
“I’m really excited to experience Sundance for the first time,” said Dom Sagolla, co-creator of Twitter and author of 140 Characters: A Style Guide for the Short Form. “The Tweet House will be the place for Hollywood and Silicon Valley to share our common passion for Twitter.”
